An Update on Summer Outreach

It's become a rather twisty road to the summer with regards to the whole summer outreach planning thing. First we planned on having Daycamp as it had been in the past. Then Daycamp was replaced with a 2 evening, 1 day "camp" (for lack of a better word) for families. The goal was to have families bring families. Then we added the idea of neighbourhood VBS's. Then the family outreach was postponed for a year, leaving the neighbourhood VBS's as our sole children/family outreach. Then I got the idea to replace the neighbourhood VBS idea with something that will basically resemble Sidewalk Sunday School. And that's where we're at now.

Unfortunately there's quite a bit of that twisty road left to travel before the summer hits, but hopefully now it will only be a series a little twists. There are many decisions and choices still to be made. There are lots of questions to answer. What locations should we pursue? What curriculum should be used? Should we bother trying small groups? How do we initially form our little congregations? How should the ministry be staffed? What do we call it? Should we try to get a converted bus that's sitting in someone's backyard in Penticton? Or should we try to push to get the Zoe bus converted? Or should we basically make do with the bus as-is, hoping that a successful summer will help us make a strong case for some major refitting next year?

Please be praying that God would continue to lead us down that road to the summer. Pray specifically for yours truly, that I wouldn't get bogged down in the details of the various options. And of course, let's be praying that God would use this endeavour to reach more kids for Christ!
