April 9: Day of Prayer and Fasting

This Sunday our church is hosting a city-wide prayer service. The service will be similar to the last inter-church prayer service, except that there is an invitation to pray and fast during that day, leading up to the service. The focus of this event is "Brokeness and Blessing for the City of Kelowna".

I know the thought of fasting on Sunday is not very appealing--and to be honest I'm not exactly sure what makes fasting important--but it's biblical and there seems to be something to it. In fact, Time after time, major moves of God have been preceded by intense times of pray and fasting. Would you consider at least fasting from lunch, and making an effort to pray for Kelowna at least once during the day?
