Why "Mission:Adventure"?

The slogan says it all: "Challenging Kids to the Adventure of a Lifetime". Thanks largely to a 1st year university English course that was based on both Tolkien's writings and literature that influenced his writing, I've come to see that truly following Jesus is an adventure like no other. So the goal of Mission:Adventure is to see kids embark on the adventure. We want to show kids how following Jesus is an adventure, tell them what's needed to see it through, and challenge them to live it out. There are 6 weeks of the actual Mission:Adventure programs, and each week will focus on one theme or aspect of the adventure. The first is FAITH. You have to believe that God is real if you're going to follow him. The next is the SALVATION message. Jesus came to seek out the lost, and you need to be found by him before you can start following him. Week three is about COURAGE. It's going to take courage to face the challenges along the way. Number four is about DISCIPLINE. You need to stay away from the things that would drag you away. Five is PERSEVERENCE. You can't give up. The last point is on having a FELLOWSHIP. You need the support of others who are on the same adventure (think: Lord of the Rings).
