Fall Update II

Resurrected this fall is the junior high Sunday morning service. It starts about 10:30--at the same time as Sunday School. As a trial, we are going to see how it goes to bring junior high's on the same buses as our kids. Behaviour standards will obviously have to be stricter than on Wednesdays for them. There will be zero tolerance about things like swearing, moving around on the bus, and inappropriate topics of conversation. I'll leave it up to you as far as how you pick them up, whether it's a)from their houses, b)at the street corner where it's convenient for your route, or c)at a few predetermined pick-up spots. We don't want picking up youth to take anything away from what we're trying to do with the kids, which includes everything from the bus being a safe environment to getting back to the church on time. The kids come FIRST.

I'll also leave it up to you as far as visiting goes. You'll want to visit the graduating ones (grades 6 and 7 this time) on the first week to let them know what's going on. You can continue visiting them after that if you want, but there won't be a weekly flyer for them.

The boundary between ministries has changed too. Back Country now goes to grade 5, and junior high is now between grade 6-8.

Back Country and Bible Barn will be broken up into smaller age groupings. Back Country will begin with all the kids together in the Heritage Room and then I think it's the younger ones who will go into the Music Room for the teaching time. I'm not sure if all the Bible Barn kids will meet together first. I also don't know how this all affects the dropping off and picking up of our kids, but I'll let you know when I do.

Got glazed-over eyes yet? Stay tuned for Fall Update III...
